Key developments include:

  • Launch of the fourth production line at Hansalpur plant
  • Increase in annual production capacity from 7.5 lakh to 10 lakh vehicles

Once both projects are completed, Maruti Suzuki’s total manufacturing capacity in Gujarat will reach 20 lakh vehicles per year.

Employment Opportunities to Grow Across Automotive Ecosystem

Maruti Suzuki Senior Executive Officer Rahul Bharti stated that every new manufacturing plant creates a wider industrial ecosystem that requires a skilled workforce.

He emphasized that the Advanced Manufacturing Labs will play a crucial role in making youth employable and meeting the rising demand for skilled professionals in the automobile sector.

Gujarat Government Welcomes Skill Development Initiative

Gujarat Employment and Training Director Stuti Charan welcomed the initiative, stating that Maruti Suzuki has consistently contributed to skill development in India.

She said the project will help bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, strengthening Gujarat’s position as a major hub for the automobile industry and generating better career opportunities for youth.

Maruti Suzuki Expands AML Network Across India

Currently, Maruti Suzuki is supporting 31 ITIs across India and has already established 18 Advanced Manufacturing Labs.

With the addition of five new labs in Gujarat, the total number of AMLs will increase to 23, spanning across states such as:
