Gandhinagar: The Golden Jubilee celebrations of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (GNFC) were held at Narmada Nagar Township with grandeur, where Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel presided over the event. The celebration highlighted GNFC’s 50-year contribution to Gujarat’s industrial growth, farmers’ prosperity, and India’s vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”
The event also witnessed the inauguration of several major development and environmental initiatives, including the Namo Vadvan, Miyawaki Forest, Oxygen Park, and the Community Science Center at Narmada Nagar Township.
CM launches “50 Viksit Villages – Vision 2047” initiative
During the event, the Chief Minister launched the ambitious program “50 Viksit Villages – Vision 2047”, aimed at holistic development of 50 villages in Bharuch district. The initiative focuses on transforming rural regions through infrastructure development, social welfare, and sustainable growth.
The state government also reiterated its broader “Viksit Gujarat 2047” roadmap, designed to align with India’s long-term national development vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.”

GNFC roadmap aligned with Viksit and Aatmanirbhar Bharat
The Chief Minister called upon GNFC to accelerate its roadmap and significantly scale its operations, urging the company to expand its ongoing projects worth ₹7,000 crore to nearly ₹70,000 crore by 2047.
He highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in India have become more efficient, transparent, competitive, and profitable.
According to him, GNFC’s success story reflects its strong contribution to:
- Gujarat’s industrial and agricultural development
- Farmers’ welfare and productivity enhancement
- India’s journey toward self-reliance
Neem Project empowers over 4.5 lakh rural women
A key highlight of GNFC’s initiatives is its Neem Project, which was strongly appreciated by the Chief Minister. Under this project:
- Neem seed oil is used for neem-coated urea production
- Organic products are developed from neem oil
- Rural women’s self-help groups are engaged in neem seed collection
This initiative has economically empowered more than 4.50 lakh women, making it one of the largest rural empowerment programs linked to industrial CSR activity.
Infrastructure and environmental initiatives inaugurated
As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Chief Minister inaugurated several landmark projects at Narmada Nagar Township:
- Namo Vadvan development project
- Miyawaki Forest initiative
- Oxygen Park
- Community Science Center
A commemorative coffee-table book documenting GNFC’s 50-year journey was also released on the occasion.
GNFC leadership presents Vision 2047 roadmap
GNFC Chairman and Chief Secretary of Gujarat, Manoj Kumar Das, highlighted the company’s journey from its early vision to becoming a major contributor to industrial growth.
He emphasized:
- GNFC currently has projects worth approximately ₹7,000 crore under implementation
- Future strategy will focus on consolidation, expansion, and diversification
- Gujarat government’s industrial policy offers 25%–30% incentives to support growth
- CSR spending of around ₹200 crore has supported education, healthcare, and nutrition
He also noted GNFC’s resolution to adopt 50 villages in Bharuch district under its CSR-led development vision.
GNFC’s legacy of shareholders, employees, and stakeholders
GNFC Managing Director Rajkumar Beniwal welcomed attendees and shared insights into the company’s ongoing progress and future plans.
The Chairman also credited the success of GNFC to:
