New Delhi: In a landmark move under the Central Vista redevelopment project, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has officially begun shifting its offices from the historic North Block to the newly built Common Central Secretariat Building-03 (CCS-3), located at Kartavya Path. This development signals the beginning of a major transition for key ministries and departments of the Central Government to state-of-the-art infrastructure designed for efficiency, sustainability, and centralized operations.
Nodal Officers Appointed, Logistics Streamlined for Smooth Shift
The General Administration Department has initiated the relocation process with arrangements for packing, transportation, and resetting of offices. As part of this, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Director-level officials have been appointed as nodal officers to coordinate the shifting activities.
To streamline the transition, dedicated resources have been deployed for loading, unloading, and logistical management, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
Nine Ministries Allotted Spaces in CCS-3
On June 12, 2025, the government announced the floor-wise allocation of new offices in CCS-3 for nine ministries and departments, including those housed in buildings like Shastri Bhawan, Krishi Bhawan, Nirman Bhawan, Vigyan Bhawan, and parts of North and South Block.
The detailed room allocations are as follows:

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA):
- 4th Floor: Room No. 34000 to 34119
- 5th Floor: Room No. 35000 to 35109
- 6th Floor: Room No. 36000 to 36119
Ministry of External Affairs:
- 3rd Floor: Room Nos. 33000A to 33119 (allocated sections)
Office of Principal Scientific Adviser:
- 3rd Floor: Room Nos. 33000D to 33029 (select rooms)
Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas:
- Ground & 1st Floors: Room Nos. 30040 to 31119 (select zones)
Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT):
- UG & 1st Floors: Room Nos. 3UG01 to 31110 (select areas)
Ministry of MSME & Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME):
- 2nd Floor: Room Nos. 32000G to 32119 (select areas)
Ministry of Rural Development & Department of Land Resources:

CPWD Sets Up Facilitation Centre to Assist Transition
To ensure seamless relocation, the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has established a Facilitation Centre to assist ministries with:
- Inventory coordination
- Familiarization with new facilities
- Security and safety briefings
- Movement and relocation planning
- Parking allocations
All departments have been asked to nominate nodal officers to coordinate with the Facilitation Centre for operational readiness and support.
