New Delhi: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has announced the appointment of Srividya Venkataraman as Director – Finance for a five-year term, following approval from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. The appointment has been disclosed in accordance with SEBI Listing Regulations.
She officially assumed charge on June 24, 2026, marking a key leadership change in the company’s top management.
Appointment Details and Tenure
Srividya Venkataraman’s appointment as Director – Finance is for a period of five years, or until superannuation, or until further orders—whichever is earlier.
With this change, the additional charge of Director – Finance previously held by K. S. Shetty, Director – Human Resources, has been discontinued, restoring a dedicated leadership role for the finance portfolio.

Professional Background of Srividya Venkataraman
Srividya Venkataraman is a Chartered Accountant and Cost & Works Accountant with over 30 years of experience in India’s energy sector.
Before joining HPCL, she served as Executive Director – Corporate Treasury at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), where she handled several critical financial functions, including:
- Treasury and risk management
- Investor relations
- Capital structure and funding strategy
- Pricing and taxation
- Pension fund investments and insurance
During her tenure, she played a significant role in mobilizing over ₹30,000 crore in project financing to support major strategic initiatives.
Leadership Roles and Business Contributions
At BPCL, she held multiple senior leadership positions, including Finance Head of the Retail Business and key roles in the LPG segment.
In the LPG business, she contributed to the implementation of major government schemes such as:
- Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)
- Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for LPG subsidies
These initiatives were aimed at improving access to clean cooking fuel and enhancing subsidy transparency and efficiency across India.
