New Delhi: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has entered into a strategic partnership with Restaurant Brands Asia Limited (RBAL), the master franchisee of Burger King in India, to launch quick service restaurant (QSR) outlets across select fuel stations and highway retail locations.

The agreement was signed on June 24, 2026, marking a key milestone in HPCL’s “Beyond Fuel” strategy aimed at transforming traditional fuel stations into integrated customer experience hubs.

Fuel Stations to Become Multi-Service Travel Destinations

Under this partnership, Burger King outlets will be set up at high-traffic HPCL fuel stations and Wayside Amenities (WSAs) located along major highways and important urban corridors.

The initiative is designed to combine fuel services with food, rest, and travel amenities at a single location, offering greater convenience for long-distance travelers and daily commuters.

Strengthening Customer Experience and Retail Innovation

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has been actively expanding its non-fuel retail offerings as part of its broader diversification strategy.

By integrating globally recognized food brands like Burger King into its network, the company aims to:

  • Enhance customer engagement at fuel stations
  • Improve on-site amenities and services
  • Increase dwell time and customer satisfaction
  • Strengthen station-level retail performance

Expanding Highway Retail Ecosystem in India

With rising highway connectivity and growing intercity travel demand, fuel stations in India are increasingly evolving into multi-service destinations.

The HPCL–Burger King collaboration reflects this shift by combining mobility infrastructure with modern food and lifestyle retail services. The rollout of QSR outlets at selected locations is expected to enhance traveler convenience and boost commercial activity at highway retail points.

Strategic Importance of the Partnership

The initiative aligns with HPCL’s long-term vision of building modern fuel retail outlets that offer value-added services beyond conventional fuel sales. Industry observers see this as part of a broader transformation in India’s fuel retail sector, where companies are focusing more on customer experience, increased dwell time, and non-fuel revenue streams.
