HUDCO Donates ₹2.37 Crore to Himachal Pradesh for Waste Management and Sustainable Urban Development

Shimla: As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) extended financial assistance of ₹2.37 crore to the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The funds are aimed at enhancing the efficiency of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state through the provision of shredders and electric garbage collection vehicles, supporting cleaner and more sustainable urban environments.

Formal Handover of CSR Assistance

The CSR cheque was formally handed over to Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Mr. Vikramaditya Singh, Hon’ble Minister for Public Works, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The event highlighted HUDCO’s commitment to collaborating with state governments to strengthen urban infrastructure and promote sustainable development practices.

Promoting Efficient Waste Management and Clean Mobility

This initiative will significantly improve solid waste management in Himachal Pradesh by ensuring timely collection and processing of waste. The provision of electric garbage collection vehicles will not only reduce carbon emissions but also promote clean mobility solutions in urban areas. The addition of shredders will aid in better processing of solid waste, converting it into reusable materials and contributing to the creation of sustainable urban ecosystems.

Strengthening Urban Governance

By equipping ULBs with modern equipment and resources, HUDCO aims to enhance operational efficiency, environmental responsibility, and service delivery in municipal governance. This initiative is expected to set a benchmark for green urban management practices in the state, aligning with national sustainability goals.
