In a recent development, senior IAS officer Chandra Bhushan Kumar (1995-batch, AGMUT cadre) has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, as confirmed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on November 21st, 2024. Officer Kumar succeeds Mr. Keshav Chandra (1995-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer), who has been transferred to Delhi and appointed as Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
Mr. Kumar was repatriated to his parent cadre under the request of MHA on November 16th. Prior to this assignment, he served as the Additional Secretary and Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation.
