VIJAYAWADA: Seven District Collectors of Andhra Pradesh will be conferred with the Governor’s Gold Medalsin recognition of their contribution to the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) at the Annual General Meeting of the IRCS Andhra Pradesh State Branch in Vijayawada on September 1, 2026.
The Annual General Meeting is scheduled to be held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, Vijayawada, at 11 am, where the seven Collectors will receive the prestigious medals as part of the AGM proceedings.
The State government has permitted all seven Collectors to attend the meeting and receive the awards.
Seven District Collectors to Receive Gold Medals
The recipients of the Governor’s Gold Medals are:
- C. Nagarani – West Godavari Collector and District Magistrate
- Himanshu Shukla – Nellore District Collector
- V. Vinod Kumar – Bapatla District Collector
- D.K. Balaji – Krishna District Collector
- M.N. Harendhira Prasad – Kakinada District Collector
- Swapnil Dinkar Pundkar – Srikakulam District Collector
- G. Rajakumari – Nandyal District Collector

The medals are being presented in recognition of their contribution to the activities of the Indian Red Cross Society’s Andhra Pradesh State Branch.
Medals to Be Presented During IRCS AGM
The awards will be presented during the proceedings of the IRCS State Branch’s Annual General Meeting.
The programme follows an intimation from the Special Chief Secretary to the Governor, after which the State government permitted the seven Collectors to attend the AGM and receive the medals.
The recognition highlights the role played by district administrations in supporting the activities and objectives of the Indian Red Cross Society.
Joint Collectors to Handle Duties During Absence
As the seven Collectors will be attending the AGM in Vijayawada, the government has also made arrangements for the discharge of their official responsibilities during their absence.
The respective Joint Collectors and Additional District Magistrates will look after the duties of the concerned District Collectors during the period.
The arrangement is intended to ensure that regular district administration continues without disruption while the Collectors attend the award ceremony.
Government Issues Permission
The permission for the Collectors to attend the AGM and receive the Governor’s Gold Medals was issued by the Andhra Pradesh government through orders issued by Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad.
The government order follows the communication from the Governor’s office regarding the presentation of the medals at the IRCS Andhra Pradesh State Branch’s Annual General Meeting.
The event is scheduled for September 1 at 11 am at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada.
