Assam: 5 IAS Transferred, Sumit Sattawan Will be the New DC of Kamrup Metro

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle in Assam, the Himanta Biswa Sarma led state government has transferred and posted 5 IAS officers.

2012 batch IAS officer Pallav Gopal Jha has been transferred and posted as the new Commissioner of Tax, Assam. Mr. Jha was serving as the District Commissioner of Kamrup (M) and Project Director for the JICA Assisted Guwahati Water Supply Project (additional).

In addition to this crucial role, Mr. Jha has been entrusted with the responsibilities of Project Director for Assam’s Urban Infrastructure Investment Program (UIIP).

2015 batch IAS officer Sumit Sattawan has been appointed as the new District Commissioner of Kamrup metro. He was previously entrusted with the responsibilities of the District Commissioner in Assam’s Lakhimpur district.

Mr. Hyalinge Gayatri Devidas, an IAS officer of 2019 batch, made the new District Commissioner of Lakhimpur DC in the wake of Sattawan’s new assignment. She was previously served as Joint Secretary in the Finance Department.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro, Biswajit Pegu, an IAS officer of 2009 batch, has been transferred and posted to the position of Deputy Commissioner, Dibrugarh.

2015 batch IAS officer Megha Nidhi Dahal, the Commissioner of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation and Project Director of the Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Program, has been relieved from her duties as Project Director for the Assam Infrastructure Investment Programme.

This recent transfers come as part of a strategic administrative realignment in the state.

A few state civil services officers were transferred as well. Names are given below

Deba Kumar Mishra, PPS to the chief minister and MD, Assam Tourism Development Corporation is transferred and posted as DC, Biswanath.

Dibakar Nath, ADC, I/C Bijni, is transferred and posted as DC, Karbi Anglong.

Hivare Nisarg Gautam, DC, South Salmara, is transferred and posted as DC, Nagaon.

Mridul Yadav, Deputy Secretary of PHE Department and Joint Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, is transferred and posted as DC of Karimganj.

Joint secretary of the Welfare of plain tribes and backward classes Department, Krishna Baruah, is transferred and posted as DC of West Karbi Anglong.

Pallavi Sarkar, ADC, Hailakandi is transferred and posted as DC, South Salmara.

The reshuffle added Dima Hasao DC, Paul Baruah transferred and posted to Charaideo New DC, and DC Paranab Kumar Sarmah , Biswanath transferred and posted as new DC of Darrang district.

Nazreen Ahmed, Director, Financial Inspection and Additional Secretary, has been transferred and posted as DC of Dima Hasao.
