Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has transferred 10 IAS officers in a significant administrative reshuffle, affecting senior positions in electricity supply companies, district administrations, rural development, agriculture, social welfare, treasury and other departments.
The orders include the transfer of 2013-batch IAS officer Vyshali M L as Managing Director of Mysuru Sales International Limited (MSIL), Bengaluru, while several 2019 and 2020-batch officers have been moved to new district-level and departmental assignments.
The reshuffle also brings changes at the top of HESCOM, GESCOM, The Hutti Gold Mines Company Limited, Zilla Panchayats and key state government departments.
Vyshali M L Transferred to MSIL
Vyshali M L, an IAS officer of the 2013 batch, has been transferred from her position as Managing Director, Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM), Hubballi.
She has now been posted as Managing Director, Mysuru Sales International Limited (MSIL), Bengaluru.
Her transfer marks a change in leadership at HESCOM, one of Karnataka’s electricity distribution companies.
Shashidhar Kurera Posted as Hutti Gold Mines MD
Shashidhar Kurera, an IAS officer of the 2018 batch, has also been shifted from his current assignment.
Kurera was serving as Managing Director, Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company Limited (GESCOM), Gulbarga.
He has now been transferred and posted as Managing Director, The Hutti Gold Mines Company Limited.
The Hutti Gold Mines Company is a key state-owned mining enterprise in Karnataka.
Anand Prakash Meena Moved to Vijayapura Zilla Panchayat
Anand Prakash Meena, an IAS officer of the 2019 batch, has been transferred from Kodagu district.
Meena was serving as Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Kodagu District, Madikeri.
He has now been posted as Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Vijayapura District, Vijayapura.
Rishi Anand Gets Shivamogga Posting
Rishi Anand, an IAS officer of the 2020 batch, has been transferred from Vijayapura.
He was serving as Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Vijayapura District, Vijayapura.
He has now been posted as Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Shivamogga District, Shivamogga.
The move comes as part of the changes being made to the leadership of district-level rural development administration.
Hemanth N Appointed HESCOM Managing Director
Hemanth N, also an IAS officer of the 2020 batch, has been transferred from Shivamogga.
He was serving as Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Shivamogga District, Shivamogga.
Hemanth N has now been appointed as Managing Director, HESCOM, Hubballi.
He will take charge of the electricity distribution company following the transfer of Vyshali M L.
Dinesh Kumar Meena Gets Kodagu Zilla Panchayat
Dinesh Kumar Meena, an IAS officer of the 2023 batch, has also been shifted to a new assignment.
He was serving as Assistant Commissioner, Kollegala Sub-Division, Kollegala.
He has now been transferred and posted as Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Kodagu District, Madikeri.
His new assignment places him in charge of the district-level Zilla Panchayat administration in Kodagu.
Senior Departmental Changes
The reshuffle also includes several senior-level changes in the Karnataka government secretariat and departments.
Dr. Trilok Chandra K.V., Secretary, Planning, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Agriculture.
The move shifts him from the Planning Department to the Agriculture Department.
Dr Rakesh Kumar K Gets Additional Revenue Charge
Dr. Rakesh Kumar K, who was serving as Commissioner, Social Welfare Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary to the Deputy Chief Ministers.
He has also been given additional charge of Commissioner, Revenue.
The new assignment places him in a key position involving coordination with the offices of the Deputy Chief Ministers along with the additional responsibility of the Revenue portfolio.
Dr Arundhati Chandrasekhar Shifted to Treasury Department
Dr Arundhati Chandrasekhar, who was serving as Commissioner, Panchayat Raj, has also been transferred.
She has been posted as Commissioner, Treasury Department.
The move shifts her from the Panchayat Raj administration to the state’s treasury administration.
Patil Yelagowda Shivanagowda Gets Rural Development Charge
Patil Yelagowda Shivanagowda, who was serving as Director, MSME, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Rural Development.
He will also hold additional charge of Panchayat Raj.
The appointment gives him responsibility for the Rural Development portfolio along with the additional charge of Panchayat Raj.
