2008 batch IAS officer Daulat Desai who was posted as Joint Director in the Maharashtra Medical Education and Drugs Department (MEDD) resigned from his post. He expressed his anguish in a facebook post after resigning from his post.
During his career spanning 14 years, the IAS officer also served as the Director, Disaster Management and CEO of Pune Zilla Parishad. The senior bureaucrat, before being transferred to MEDD, was the Collector of Kolhapur and handled the 2019 floods that devastated the western Maharashtra district.
