The Union Government has assigned Ms. Meenaxi Rawat, a 1993-batch Indian Economic Service (IES) officer, the additional charge of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at GAIL (India) Limited. She currently serves as the CVO of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Mumbai, and holds the rank of Additional Secretary in the Government of India.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Ms. Rawat will hold this additional charge for three months beyond January 14, 2025, or until a regular CVO is appointed at GAIL, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

With 29 years of experience in various ministries, including Finance, Commerce & Industry, Railways, Consumer Affairs, Labour, and Atomic Energy, Ms. Rawat has expertise in finance, budgeting, project appraisal, consumer welfare, industrial policy, and labour laws. She holds an M.A. and M.Phil in Economics from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, and an MBA from the University of Hull, United Kingdom.
Her appointment is expected to strengthen vigilance and governance measures at GAIL, ensuring transparency and accountability within the organization.
