Following the conundrum regarding the names given to two big cats (“Akbar” & “Sita”) resulting in the suspension of Officer PL Agarwal (1994 batch Tripura cadre IFS), the government of Tripura redistributed his responsibilities between two senior IFS officers.
Mr. RK Samal (1993 batch Tripura cadre IFS officer), the incumbent Principle Chief Conservator of Forests (APR), was mandated to assume office as the new Chief Wildlife Warden, Member Secretary of Tripura Biodiversity Board, and Principle Chief Conservator of Forests (FCA).
While Ms. Deepa D Nair (2001 batch Tripura cadre IFS officer), the incumbent Chief Conservator of Forests (Planning & Development) and CEO of Element Project, was appointed Managing Director of Tripura Nature Trail Resorts (TNTR) Ltd., CEO & PD of Tripura JICA (SCARFORM) project, and Chief Conservator of Forests (Research & Training).
