The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Mohit Yadav, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer from the 2002 batch, as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on March 7, Yadav’s tenure will last for three years, until October 28, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
A seasoned diplomat, Yadav has previously held various key positions, contributing significantly to India’s foreign relations and trade policies. His appointment comes at a pivotal time when the Department of Commerce is focusing on enhancing international trade agreements, export promotion, and economic diplomacy.
