- Reduced dependence on LPG cylinders
- Improved convenience for university employees and their families

The initiative is expected to make household cooking fuel access more convenient for staff members living on the university campus.
IGL Expands Natural Gas Infrastructure
IGL said the collaboration is part of its broader effort to expand natural gas infrastructure deeper into homes, institutions and communities across its authorised geographical areas. The company noted that the agreement is the result of sustained engagement and coordinated efforts by its acquisition and execution teams.
Initiative Supports Cleaner Cooking Fuel Access
The partnership aligns with the broader push towards increasing access to cleaner cooking fuels and expanding piped natural gas networks in urban residential areas.
By connecting staff quarters directly to the PNG network, the initiative is expected to support a more convenient and continuous cooking fuel supply while contributing to the expansion of India’s natural gas infrastructure.
Expanding PNG From Campuses to Communities
The University of Delhi project is another step in expanding PNG connectivity across residential and institutional communities. IGL said every new PNG connection contributes to the expansion of natural gas infrastructure and supports the development of a gas-based economy.
