New Delhi: In a recent administrative move, the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the inter-cadre transfer of IPS officer Anushtha Kalia (AGMUT:2022) from the AGMUT cadre to the Rajasthan cadre. The transfer was granted on marriage grounds, following her wedding to IPS officer Vishal Jangid (Rajasthan:2022).
Background and Achievements
Smt. Anushtha Kalia, a 2022-batch Indian Police Service officer currently undergoing training as part of the 75 RR batch, was allotted to the AGMUT cadre. A distinguished probationer, she was awarded the IPS Association’s Sword of Honour for being the Best Outdoor Probationer during her training at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad.
A native of Delhi, Ms. Kalia secured All India Rank 143 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021 in her first attempt, with Psychology as her optional subject. She scored 291 marks in Psychology, one of the highest scores in the subject that year.
Before joining the civil services, Ms. Kalia held a B.Tech in Information Technology and worked as a data scientist, with specialization in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Marriage to IPS Vishal Jangid
The inter-cadre transfer has been processed in accordance with the Government of India’s policy that allows such transfers on grounds of marriage between All India Services officers, provided both belong to different cadres and consent is obtained from both respective state governments and the Central Government.
Her husband, Vishal Jangid, is an IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, also from the 2022 batch.
