SRINAGAR/AGARTALA: In a key administrative development, Ranjit Singh, a senior JKAS officer of the 2012 batch, has been appointed as Special Secretary to the Government in the Home Department, Jammu & Kashmir. The order comes as part of routine cadre management by the J&K administration to optimize deployment of experienced officers.
Meanwhile, in Tripura, IPS officer Kiran Kumar K (2014 batch) has been transferred from West Tripura and posted as Superintendent of Police (SP), Gomati District, as per the latest state-level reshuffle.
Ranjit Singh: A Seasoned Bureaucrat with Two Decades of Public Service
Born on 1 June 1975, Ranjit Singh brings over 20 years of experience in governance and administration. He holds degrees in Arts (B.A.) and Business Administration (MBA). First substantively appointed to government service in October 2001, he was inducted into the Jammu & Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) in August 2012.
Currently serving as Special Secretary to the Home Department since 4 August 2025, he is drawing a Level-13 pay scale of ₹1,23,100 – ₹2,15,900 per month.

IPS Kiran Kumar K Transferred as SP Gomati District
In another major administrative move, Kiran Kumar K, a 2014-batch IPS officer of the Tripura cadre, has been transferred from his current post as SP West Tripura and will now take charge as the Superintendent of Police of Gomati District.
This transfer comes as part of the routine reshuffle of senior police personnel in Tripura, aimed at bringing fresh perspectives to key districts.
