Suresh Chandra who was appointed as Legal Advisor to Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana, has submitted his resignation letter on the basis of health issues. he was appointed for the period of six months when Rakesh Asthana came into charge in July this year. Mr. Asthana is also going to retire on July 31.
Mr Chandra has also served as Director of Prosecution in Delhi Government earlier. He is an Indian Legal Service officer who was retired as Union Law Secretary and was also the Private Secretary to the Law Minister Arun Jaitley between 2002 and 2004. His resignation came before the period of competition of his service that was for 6 months.
“Suresh Chandra has tendered his resignation from the post of consultant to work as legal advisor to CP, Delhi on health grounds and the same has been accepted by the Commissioner of Police, Delhi,” according to an order from the office of the Delhi Police Commissioner stated. No successor have been appointed for the vacant position till now.
