Mumbai: IPS officer Dr. Rashmi Karandikar appeared before the City Economic Offences Wing (EOW) officers today in connection with a summons issued to her regarding two separate cheating cases involving her husband, Prushottam Chavan.

The EOW is probing the allegations of fraud and cheating against Prushottam Chavan, and had earlier summoned Dr. Karandikar to answer questions related to certain financial transactions between her and her husband. The officer was initially required to appear before the EOW on March 13, but she failed to comply with the summons at that time. However, she appeared before the investigators on March 24, following the summons.

The EOW is investigating the details of financial dealings between Dr. Karandikar and her husband, which are believed to be related to the ongoing cheating cases. The authorities have indicated that they intend to question her in relation to these transactions to ascertain whether she had any knowledge or involvement in her husband’s alleged fraudulent activities.

Dr. Karandikar’s appearance comes amid heightened scrutiny as the investigation into the cheating cases continues. The EOW has been gathering evidence and questioning several individuals in connection with the fraud accusations, and Dr. Karandikar’s statement is expected to play a crucial role in advancing the investigation.

At this time, no charges have been filed against Dr. Karandikar, and she has stated that she is cooperating fully with the investigation. The EOW has not yet released further details on the progress of the case or the nature of the financial transactions being examined.

This case has attracted significant attention, as Dr. Karandikar is a serving IPS officer, and the developments in her involvement with the ongoing probe are likely to shape public perception of the investigation moving forward.
