1997 batch IPS officer of Punjab cadre Mukhwinder Singh Chhina has been promoted from Inspector General (IG) of Patiala Range to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP).
The Punjab government announced the promotion of Mr. Chhina on 23 August .
During his tenure as IG of Patiala Range, Mr. Chhina adeptly managed numerous critical law and order situations, including the Dera Sacha Sauda crisis in Bathinda and the Kali Mata Mandir crisis in Patiala.
His leadership was pivotal in effectively addressing the farmers’ agitation at the PSPCL headquarters in Patiala.
Mr. Chhina’s achievements also extend to his recognition with the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service.
