1998 batch IPS officer of Gujarat cadre, Mr. Piyush Purushottamdas Patel, has been appointed to the position of Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF). He was serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Surat Range.
He will be serving on this position for a designated term of five years. He will serve in this capacity on a deputation basis, commencing from the date he assumes charge of the position or until further instructions are issued – whichever eventuality transpires earlier.
As outlined in an official directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Monday (21.08.2023), the appointment of Mr. Das has garnered approval from the competent authority.
