Senior IPS officer Harsha Vardhan (2012 batch, AGMUT cadre) has been appointed as Superintendent of Police in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a period of five years, according to an official order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The appointment, made on a deputation basis, will be effective from the date Mr. Vardhan assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Currently serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Delhi, Harsha Vardhan brings substantial field experience to the CBI. He previously served as Superintendent of Police in the Arunachal Pradesh Police from December 2017 to February 2021.
An engineering graduate in Computer Science from BITS Pilani, Vardhan is known for his disciplined service record and effective policing strategies during his tenure in various parts of the country.
