Sunil Kumar Gautam, IPS, has turned his passion for law into art with his latest book, Nyaya Mahakavya. The first copy of this book was recently presented to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinay Kumar Saxena, at a special event held at Raj Niwas.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Justice Poonam Bamba, Chairperson of the Police Complaints Authority, Sanjay Arora, Delhi Police Commissioner, as well as senior officers from the Delhi Police and Raj Niwas.
Written in colloquial Hindi, Nyaya Mahakavya aims to demystify the basic concepts of law for everyone—from policemen, advocates, and judicial officers to law students and laypersons. The book also covers new laws implemented from July 1, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.
On receiving the book, LG Vinay Kumar Saxena praised its poetic style and use of illustrations, noting how these elements make the subject of law more engaging. He emphasized that the book should be in every household to keep people informed about the law.
Sunil Kumar Gautam is also the author of Samvidhan Kavya, a poetic rendition of the Indian Constitution published in 2016.
