In a recent reshuffle, senior IPS officer P Vijayan has been appointed as the head of Kerala’s intelligence wing, taking over from ADGP Manoj Abraham. Abraham, who previously held the intelligence portfolio, has now been assigned the law and order division, which was earlier under ADGP M R Ajith Kumar.
P Vijayan, who had earlier served as the director of the Kerala Police Academy, is stepping into the intelligence role following his return to service. He had been suspended after being implicated in a report by M R Ajith Kumar related to the alleged leaking of information in the Kozhikode train arson case. Following his suspension, Vijayan resumed service and was reappointed as the academy’s director. A Akbar has now been named as the new director of the Kerala Police Academy, according to the official government notification.
