Mr. Satender Kumar Gupta, 2004-batch IPS officer, assumed charge as the Commissioner of Police, Faridabad, this Saturday after being nominated for the post. Previously, he served as the Police Commissioner of Sonipat. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Joint Police Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Duggal (2010-batch IPS officer), Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Mr. Abhishek Jorwal (2011-batch IPS officer), and other officials.
Hailing from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Gupta joined the Indian Police Service in 2004 after completing his B.Tech. Recognized for his bravery and dedication, he was awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry in 2016 and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2023. Over his two-decade career, he has held key positions, including Superintendent of Police in several Haryana districts and Inspector General of Karnal Range.
In his first meeting with officers, Mr. Gupta outlined his priorities, including combating cybercrimes, enhancing police presence, and reducing crimes against women. He emphasized improving the traffic system and assured that criminals would face strict action. Known for his public-friendly approach and tough stance against lawbreakers, he promised swift justice for citizens.
Extending New Year greetings, Mr. Gupta urged citizens to celebrate peacefully, avoid drunk driving, and assured robust security arrangements to maintain law and order.
