IREDA Q1 FY27 Results: PAT Jumps 37% YoY to ₹337 Crore, Loan Book Crosses ₹94,851 Crore 

India's leading renewable energy financier reported strong Q1 FY27 performance with a 37% rise in net profit, a loan book of ₹94,851 crore, improved NPA ratios, and healthy capital adequacy.

New Delhi: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA), India’s premier green energy financing institution and a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), has announced its unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The company delivered strong growth across all major financial parameters during the first quarter of FY2026-27. Standalone Profit After Tax (PAT) increased by 36.82% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹337.50 crore, while the company’s loan book crossed ₹94,851.88 crore. IREDA also reported a significant improvement in asset quality, with both gross and net NPA ratios declining during the quarter.

Standalone Financial Performance in Q1 FY27

IREDA reported robust growth across all key standalone financial indicators.

Highlights include:

  • Total Income: Increased to ₹2,249.54 crore, up 14.80% from ₹1,959.53 crore in Q1 FY26.
  • Profit Before Tax (PBT): Rose to ₹412.72 crore, registering a 35.48% YoY growth.
  • Profit After Tax (PAT): Grew to ₹337.50 crore, an increase of 36.82% over ₹246.68 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
  • Basic Earnings Per Share (EPS): Improved to ₹1.20 from ₹0.91, reflecting a 31.87% increase.
  • Net Worth: Increased to ₹14,132.50 crore, up 13.95% from ₹12,401.86 crore.
  • Capital to Risk-Weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR): Improved to 20.30%, compared to 19.58% a year ago.

Consolidated Financial Performance

IREDA also posted impressive consolidated financial results for the quarter.

Key highlights include:

  • Total Income: Rose to ₹2,250.60 crore, up 14.84% YoY.
  • Profit Before Tax (PBT): Increased to ₹413.75 crore, marking a 35.71% growth.
  • Profit After Tax (PAT): Climbed to ₹338.53 crore, registering a 37.12% increase over Q1 FY26.
  • Basic Earnings Per Share (EPS): Increased to ₹1.21 from ₹0.91, up 32.97%.

Loan Book Crosses ₹94,851 Crore

IREDA continued to expand its lending portfolio during the quarter.

Operational highlights include:

  • Outstanding Loan Book: Increased to ₹94,851.88 crore as of June 30, 2026, from ₹79,851.91 crore in the same period last year.
  • Impairment Loss Allowance: Stood at ₹3,099.55 crore, with provisioning coverage of 3.27%.
  • Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR): Maintained at a healthy 20.30%.
  • Tier-I Capital: ₹14,935.83 crore.
  • Debt-Equity Ratio: 5.59 times.
  • Security Cover: Maintained at 3.57 times for secured Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs).

Asset Quality Improves Significantly

IREDA continued to strengthen its balance sheet through better asset quality.

Key improvements include:

  • Gross NPA Ratio: Improved to 3.76%, down from 4.13% in Q1 FY26.
  • Net NPA Ratio: Declined to 1.22% from 2.06% a year earlier.
  • Provisioning Coverage for Stage III Assets: Remained strong at 68.22%.

The lower NPA ratios indicate improved credit quality and effective risk management across the company’s loan portfolio.

Key Developments During the Quarter

IREDA undertook several strategic initiatives during the quarter to support future growth.

Fund Raising

The company raised ₹1,500 crore through the private placement of taxable unsecured bonds (Series XVIII-A).

The proceeds have been fully utilized for:

  • Lending to renewable energy projects.
  • General corporate purposes.

Cost Auditor Reappointed

The Board of Directors reappointed M/s R.M. Bansal & Co., Cost Accountants, as the Cost Auditor for the financial year 2026-27.

Subsidiary Included in Consolidated Results

The consolidated financial statements include the performance of IREDA Global Green Energy Finance IFSC Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary.

As of June 30, 2026, the subsidiary reported:

  • Total Assets: ₹90.05 crore.

Strong Financial Position Supports Future Growth

As of June 30, 2026, IREDA maintained a strong financial position backed by healthy capital adequacy and improving asset quality.

Key financial indicators:

  • Net Worth: ₹14,132.50 crore.
  • Debt-Equity Ratio: 5.59.
  • Gross NPA Ratio: 3.76%.
  • Net NPA Ratio: 1.22%.
  • CRAR: 20.30%.

The company’s healthy balance sheet positions it well to support India’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector.
