2010 batch IRTS officer Akhilesh Kumar Pandey has been appointed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Satish Chandra Dubey, the Minister of State for Coal & Mines. This decision specifically pertains to the Ministry of Mines.
The announcement was made following an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Mr. Pandey’s appointment, which will be effective until July 24, 2024. His tenure will encompass a combined period of five years on a non-Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) post, and he will serve in the capacity of OSD on a co-terminus basis with the Minister.
Mr. Pandey’s extensive experience in the Indian Railways Traffic Service positions him to effectively support Minister Dubey in addressing key issues within the coal and mines sector, which is critical for the nation’s energy needs and economic development.
As he takes on this important role, the Ministry of Mines anticipates that Mr. Pandey’s expertise will enhance the efficiency of operations and contribute to strategic initiatives in the mining sector.
