Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said projects involving an investment of around ₹3,400 crore are planned in Jamui, with steel and other industries expected to generate more than 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
During his visit to Jamui on Saturday, Choudhary conducted an aerial inspection of land identified for an industrial area in Chakai and reviewed the construction of an ethanol plant in the block.
9,000 Acres Identified for Industrial Area
The Chief Minister said around 9,000 acres of land has been identified for developing an industrial area in Chakai. He directed officials to complete mapping of the identified land within 10 to 12 days.

The mapping will establish the status of forest land within the identified area. Choudhary also directed officials to conduct a detailed assessment of around 4,000 acres of raiyati and other-category land.
Officials have been asked to prepare complete details of the identified land by October 30, following which further planning for the proposed industrial area will be undertaken.

Ethanol Plant Targeted to Begin Production by March 2027
Choudhary also inspected the under-construction ethanol plant of Ankur Biochem Private Limited in Chakai and reviewed its progress. Officials informed him that production is targeted to begin by March 2027.
The project is being developed on 105 acres and has a proposed production capacity of 1,000 kilolitres per day. According to the information provided during the inspection, the plant will require around 30,000 quintals of grain daily.
The Chief Minister also said steel and other industrial units would be established in Jamui with an investment of around ₹3,400 crore. The projects are expected to create more than 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
Tourism and Law-and-Order Instructions
During the visit, Choudhary directed officials to develop Lachhuar Temple and Garhi Dam as tourism destinations. He also called for improved public facilities and arrangements for devotees at Lachhuar Temple.
On law and order, the Chief Minister directed the district administration and police to ensure regular patrolling. He asked the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police to inspect police stations and review their functioning.
He also directed officials to prepare an action plan for awareness activities related to de-addiction in the district.
