Patna: Bihar is set to expand rural livelihood opportunities through JEEViKA-Sudha sales centres, with outlets planned across all 8,053 panchayats under Saat Nischay-3. The initiative aims to give JEEViKA Didis better access to markets while strengthening milk-based rural businesses.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary handed over keys and selection certificates to five selected JEEViKA Didis at an event at 1, Anne Marg. Each selected beneficiary received equipment including a 300-litre deep freezer, Visi Cooler, sunboard, apron and cap.
District magistrates will inaugurate one JEEViKA-Sudha sales centre each across Bihar’s 38 districts around Raksha Bandhan.
Milk Cooperatives Expand Across Bihar
COMFED has accelerated the formation of primary milk producers’ cooperative societies under Saat Nischay-3. During 2026-27, 3,134 new societies have been formed, with 1,550 already operational and collecting milk.
Daily milk collection has reached 25 lakh litres, three lakh litres higher than the previous year. DPMCU systems are also being installed to enable direct payment of milk prices into producers’ bank accounts.

8,053 Sudha Sakhis to Be Selected
Sudha Sakhis will be selected through milk producers’ cooperative societies across all 8,053 panchayats. Selected women are proposed to receive training under the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme.
A six-day training programme for a batch of 38 Sudha Sakhis is scheduled at COMFED headquarters in Patna from August 27 to September 5, 2026.
534 Animal Medicine Centres Planned
The state also plans to establish 534 animal medicine sales centres, with one centre in every block, to improve access to veterinary medicines and strengthen livestock healthcare.
The Centre has already given initial approval for 109 centres. Selection letters were handed over to five beneficiaries during the programme.
Mithila Handicrafts Get Global Push
The government has also established the Mithila Handicrafts Cooperative Society to support women artisans and promote traditional Mithila crafts.
The cooperative aims to connect artisans with markets, branding, training and financial opportunities. In its first phase, Bihar plans to explore the export and marketing of Mithila handicraft products in the Angkor Wat region of Cambodia.
The initiatives together aim to strengthen women-led livelihoods, improve rural market access and connect Bihar’s local products with wider domestic and international markets.
