Ranchi: Jharkhand has taken a major step towards modernising its fire safety and emergency response system with the induction of 58 Mini Water Tender fire vehicles equipped with advanced Mist Technology. Chief Minister Hemant Soren flagged off the new fleet on Thursday at the Central Training Institute of the Home Guards in Dhurwa, Ranchi.

The newly inducted vehicles are designed to improve emergency response in urban, rural and remote areas, enabling firefighters to reach accident sites faster and tackle fires more efficiently.

CM Hemant Soren Launches 58 Advanced Fire Tenders

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said the inclusion of the new fire tenders in the Jharkhand Fire Services fleet marks a significant milestone in strengthening the state’s disaster response infrastructure.

He emphasised that every second is critical during fire emergencies, and timely intervention by fire personnel can save lives as well as prevent extensive damage to property.

According to the Chief Minister, the new fleet reflects the government’s commitment to improving public safety through advanced technology and better emergency preparedness.

Mist Technology to Improve Firefighting Efficiency

The newly launched Mini Water Tenders are equipped with Mist Technology, which enables firefighters to extinguish flames using significantly less water while maintaining high efficiency.

The technology is expected to be particularly effective in emergencies involving:

  • Gas cylinder explosions
  • Electrical short circuits
  • Residential fires
  • Commercial building fires
  • Fires in congested urban localities

Officials said the advanced system will strengthen the state’s first-response capability while reducing water consumption during firefighting operations.

Designed for Narrow Streets and Remote Villages

CM Soren noted that conventional fire engines often face difficulties entering narrow lanes, densely populated neighbourhoods and remote villages.

The compact Mini Water Tenders have been introduced to overcome these challenges.

Key advantages include:

  • Easy access to narrow streets and congested colonies
  • Faster response in rural and remote locations
  • Improved mobility during emergencies
  • Quick deployment in areas inaccessible to large fire engines

The government believes these vehicles will significantly reduce response time during fire incidents across the state.

Government Focuses on Modern Fire Safety Infrastructure

The Chief Minister said modern fire safety systems have become essential as urbanisation and industrial activities continue to expand.

He added that the Jharkhand Government is consistently upgrading the Fire Services Department by introducing modern equipment, advanced technology and improved emergency response systems to enhance public safety.

The latest addition to the fleet is part of the state’s broader strategy to build a more efficient and technologically advanced disaster management system.

CM Appreciates Firefighters’ Courage and Service

During the event, Hemant Soren praised the dedication and bravery of Jharkhand Fire Services personnel.

He said firefighters do much more than extinguish fires—they often risk their own lives to rescue people trapped in dangerous situations.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing fire personnel with modern equipment and technology so they can perform their duties more safely and effectively.

A Major Step Towards Safer Jharkhand

Calling the launch of the 58 modern fire tenders a landmark initiative, CM Soren said the move is not merely about increasing the number of firefighting vehicles but about strengthening the state’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of its citizens.

He also appealed to residents to cooperate in building a safer and disaster-resilient Jharkhand through greater awareness and preparedness.

Senior officials present at the event included MLA Kalpana Soren, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Vandana Dadel, Director General of Fire Services M.S. Bhatia, Director General of Police Tadasa Mishra, and other senior police and administrative officers.
