Jharkhand Charts Vision 2050: CM Hemant Soren Unveils Rs. 78,799 Crore Mega Projects for Infrastructure and Human Development

In a landmark move to propel Jharkhand toward comprehensive development, Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs. 78,799 crore on Saturday, commemorating 25 years of the state’s formation. The massive investment aims to modernise infrastructure across key sectors and strengthen human resources, reflecting a long-term vision for a “Viksit Jharkhand” by 2050.

Key Infrastructure and Development Projects Laid

Foundation stones for projects worth Rs. 14,475 crore were unveiled, focusing on water resource management, urban development, road construction, health, and education sectors. Another Rs. 14,324 crore has been earmarked for road networks, rural development, energy, and higher education, ensuring a holistic approach to regional and human development.

Maiyyan Samman Yojana: Transforming Women’s Welfare

CM Soren highlighted the state’s flagship Maiyyan Samman Yojana, launched during his previous term (2019-24), as a transformative initiative. “Currently, half of Jharkhand’s budget is dedicated to women’s welfare, and tangible results of their upliftment will soon be visible. Several other states have adopted our model and increased investments in women’s development,” he said. The programme has been instrumental in empowering women socially and economically, reinforcing Jharkhand’s commitment to inclusive growth.

Celebratory Gathering at Morhabadi Ground

Over 5,000 people attended the event at Morhabadi Ground, where Governor Mr. Santosh Gangwar and other dignitaries were present. CM Soren reflected on the state’s journey over the past 25 years, noting the challenges and achievements, and outlined his administration’s ambitious roadmap for the next quarter-century.

A Vision for Jharkhand 2050

Mr. Soren’s speech emphasized strategic investments and policy reforms aimed at ensuring sustainable development, robust infrastructure, and human capital enhancement. The focus on modernising urban areas, enhancing road connectivity, expanding healthcare facilities, and strengthening education systems underscores the government’s commitment to building a self-reliant and progressive Jharkhand.
