Jamshedpur: Jharkhand is set to get its first Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) with a commercial building in Jamshedpur. The state cabinet has granted administrative approval of ₹153.36 crore for construction under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The new ISBT will be located along the National Highway between Dimna Chowk and Pardiha on a 9.88-acre site and is being planned as one of the most modern bus terminals in Eastern India. Construction is expected to begin soon.
Modern Facilities and Passenger Amenities
Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Department Minister Sudivya Kumar have emphasized creating a modern and attractive facility. According to Principal Secretary Sunil Kumar, the Urban Development & Housing Department has assigned implementation responsibility to JUDCO, ensuring all basic amenities for passengers are provided.
The commercial building will include:
- Multipurpose halls
- Entertainment centers
- Health centers
- Public toilets
- Restaurants and a food court
- Approximately 100 shops
The construction will maintain high-quality standards to ensure durability and aesthetics.

Central Courtyard
A shaded area for passengers to relax, featuring water elements for a soothing environment. Local artwork and paintings will enhance the cultural appeal.
Hexagonal Plaza
A vibrant interaction area between the bus terminal and the commercial building, featuring a triangular lattice system and colored glass hexagons that create dynamic shadow patterns.
