Patna: Jeevika Diidis working in groups across rural Bihar now have a dedicated platform to resolve their problems and protect their rights. The Diidi Adhikar Kendra, established in villages, is helping these women access legal guidance and find solutions for challenges in their daily work.
Empowering Women in Rural Areas
The Diidi Adhikar Kendra aims to provide Jeevika Diidis with:
- Legal support: Assistance in cases of violence or rights violations
- Problem-solving: Help with challenges in their day-to-day operations
This initiative ensures that women no longer need to wander from place to place seeking justice or guidance, making the process more efficient and accessible.
Expansion of Diidi Adhikar Kendras
Currently, 256 centers are operational across Bihar. The state government plans to increase this number to 421 by the end of the financial year, following official approval.
Each center is staffed with seven members, appointed based on group recommendations, to ensure that Diidis can easily address their concerns.
Legal Assistance through CNLU Patna
The Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, oversees the operations of these centers. The university provides access to legal advisors from a control room, ensuring that Jeevika Diidis receive expert guidance whenever required.
A Step Towards Justice and Empowerment
The Diidi Adhikar Kendra initiative is a significant step toward women’s empowerment and access to justice in rural Bihar. By combining legal aid with problem-solving support, it strengthens the position of Jeevika Diidis in their communities and fosters safer and more supportive working conditions.
