Patna: The Bihar government has taken decisive steps to facilitate the establishment of 19 new Kendriya Vidyalayas across the state. A detailed report by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Patna Division, has highlighted the current status of land acquisition, No Objection Certificates (NOCs), and temporary building arrangements for these schools.
Land Selection and NOC Status
Several proposed sites for the new schools have been identified as suitable, though pending NOCs from various departments remain a hurdle. Key updates include:
- Selected Land: Bhagalpur Town (Health Department), Kaimur, Jhajharpur, Munger Town (Agriculture Department), Ramapati in Madhubani (Animal & Fisheries Resources Department), Bela Industrial Area in Muzaffarpur (BIADA)
- Pending NOCs: Patna (Valmiki area), Bhagalpur, Kaimur, and others
- Alternative Land Identified: Sheikhpura, Sitamarhi, Nalanda, Arwal, Patna (Digha)
- Land Transfer in Progress: Madhepura
Officials are also addressing encroachment removal and construction of access roads to ensure smooth development.
Main Secretary Directs Swift Action
Bihar’s Chief Secretary, Shri Pratyay Amrit, has instructed all relevant departmental secretaries and district officials to expedite approvals. Key directives include:
- Immediate issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) by Health, Agriculture, Animal & Fisheries Departments, and BIADA
- Removal of encroachments on designated school land
- Construction of necessary access roads
- Prioritization of land transfer and lease deed formalities
These measures aim to remove bureaucratic delays and ensure timely establishment of the schools.
Temporary Buildings and Maintenance
In addition to land acquisition, attention is being given to temporary buildings provided by the state government, including high schools, colleges, and hostels. While most buildings are suitable, repairs and maintenance are required. Chief Secretary Shri Pratyay Amrit has directed that all maintenance work begin immediately to ensure safe and functional facilities for students.
