Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary Flags Off Nari Shakti Run in Patna, Highlights Women’s Reservation and Empowerment

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary participated in the ‘Nari Shakti for Viksit Bharat Run’ organized at Digha Golambar on JP Ganga Path in Patna. The event, held under the Nari Shakti Vandan campaign, witnessed enthusiastic participation from women across the city.

The Chief Minister flagged off the run, encouraging participants and marking his support for women empowerment initiatives. He also took part in a signature campaign organized during the event.

CM Emphasizes Women Empowerment and Historic Reservation Move

Addressing the gathering, CM Samrat Choudhary described the day as historic and transformative for women in India. Referring to the Women’s Reservation Bill, he said it is one of the most significant steps taken after independence to empower women politically.

He highlighted that with the implementation of the bill, Lok Sabha seats are expected to increase from 543 to 816, with one-third reserved for women, ensuring stronger representation in national leadership.

Bihar’s Model of Women Reservation Praised

The Chief Minister praised Bihar’s progress in women empowerment, stating that under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the state has already implemented 50% reservation for women in Panchayati Raj institutions and urban local bodies.

He added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, similar representation will now be extended to Parliament and state assemblies, further strengthening women’s role in governance.

Women to Play Key Role in Nation Building

CM Choudhary expressed confidence that increased representation will enable women to raise their voices effectively in Parliament and contribute significantly to policymaking and governance. He urged citizens to support and welcome this progressive step towards inclusive development and gender equality.

Large Participation and Presence of Dignitaries

The event saw the presence of several prominent leaders and officials, including MLA Shreyasi Singh, Rama Nishad, Sangeeta Kumari, Patna Mayor Sita Sahu, District Magistrate Dr. Thyagarajan SM, and SSP Kartikeya Sharma. A large number of women participants and citizens attended the program, making it a vibrant and impactful event.

Strengthening Women’s Role in a Viksit Bharat

The ‘Nari Shakti Run’ in Patna highlighted the growing focus on women empowerment in India. With policy support and increased participation, women are set to play a defining role in shaping the country’s future.
