Rajasthan: NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the commencement of commercial operations of 150 MW solar capacity in Rajasthan. The project is part of a larger 300 MW solar power installation, marking a significant step in the company’s renewable energy expansion strategy.
Project Commissioned Under ONGC NTPC Green Joint Venture
The solar project has been developed by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of the joint venture ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited (ONGPL).
The 150 MW capacity has been made operational effective 18 April 2026, further strengthening NTPC’s clean energy portfolio.
Part of 300 MW Solar Project in Rajasthan
The newly commissioned capacity represents half of the total 300 MW solar project located in Rajasthan. The remaining capacity is expected to be operational in subsequent phases, contributing further to India’s renewable energy goals.
NTPC Group Capacity Rises to Over 10,276 MW
With this addition, the total operational capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has increased from 10,126.40 MW to 10,276.40 MW.
On a broader scale, the NTPC Group’s total installed capacity now stands at 89,528 MW, highlighting its strong position in India’s power sector.

The commissioning reinforces NTPC Green Energy Limited’s focus on expanding renewable energy assets and supporting India’s transition towards sustainable and clean power generation.
