NFL Appoints Kuntal Sensarma as Government Nominee Director on Board Effective 17 April 2026

New Delhi: National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking, has announced the appointment of Mr. Kuntal Sensarma as an Additional Director in the capacity of Government Nominee Director on its Board, effective 17 April 2026.

The appointment follows an order issued by the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India.

Appointment Made in Compliance with SEBI Regulations

The company informed stock exchanges that the appointment has been made in accordance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Mr. Sensarma replaces Dr. Prathibha A. on the Board of Directors. His tenure will be for up to three years, or until superannuation, or on a co-terminus basis with his posting in the Department of Fertilizers, whichever is earlier.

Experienced IES Officer with Strong Administrative Background

Mr. Kuntal Sensarma is a 1995-batch Indian Economic Service (IES) officer and currently serves as Senior Economic Adviser in the Department of Fertilizers.

He has worked across multiple key government departments, including:

  • Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)
  • Ministry of Electronics & IT
  • Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM)
  • Ministry of Food Processing Industries
  • Department of Rural Development

He has also handled additional charge responsibilities in fertilizer sector PSUs, reflecting his strong expertise in economic policy and public administration.

Strengthening Governance and Policy Alignment in Fertilizer Sector

The induction of a senior IES officer to the NFL Board is expected to enhance:

  • Policy alignment between the Government of India and the PSU
  • Strategic oversight in fertilizer sector operations
  • Coordination across fertilizer public sector undertakings

The appointment aims to strengthen governance and improve administrative efficiency in the sector.

Regulatory Compliance and Board Transition

NFL confirmed that the appointment is fully compliant with SEBI regulations and relevant government directives. The transition ensures continuity in board-level governance and strategic decision-making.
