Mumbai: K. Manjulakshmi, a 2013-batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre, has taken charge as the Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority. Her appointment is expected to boost infrastructure development and improve project execution across the rapidly expanding Pune metropolitan region.
Takes Charge at PMRDA
On Friday, Manjulakshmi formally assumed her new role at PMRDA. She was welcomed by Abhijeet Chaudhari, who extended his best wishes for her tenure.
Soon after taking charge, she reviewed ongoing projects and outlined her priorities, focusing on accelerating public welfare and infrastructure initiatives.
“Under the guidance of the Metropolitan Commissioner, I will ensure better coordination among all departments and timely completion of projects,” she said.

- District Collector, Sindhudurg (2020–2023), including during the COVID-19 period
- Administrator, Kolhapur Municipal Corporation
- Municipal Commissioner, Kolhapur
During her tenure in Kolhapur, she played a key role in:
- Strengthening urban infrastructure
- Improving sanitation and civic services
- Promoting city development programmes
She also contributed to notable projects such as the reconstruction of Keshavrao Bhosale Natyagruha and development of parking facilities near the Mahalaxmi Temple area.
