In today’s world, when imagining one hour with mobile phones is impossible, Bengaluru Police decided to have a meet of police officers banning mobile phones inside the meeting room, to get rid of any distractions. Mobiles can also disturb the brainstorming session and the free flow of ideas.
When 130 IPS officers gathered in the office of Director General and Inspector General of Police, Nrupatunga road, on 16 and 17 January, they put their mobile phones in the lockers outside the conference room. The meeting saw presence of various SPs, Police Commissioners, Inspector General of Police, ADGP. All the officers, including DG and IGP, kept their phone aside.
An officer who participated in the meeting said this was the first time that such an experiment was carried out and it was a different experience for them. Chief minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister Parameshwara also addressed the gathering on day one of the meeting.
