Bengaluru: Four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in Karnataka have been posted as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) in different sub-divisions after completing their Phase-II training. The postings were issued through a state government order reported on August 31, 2026.
The appointments mark the next stage of field assignments for the recently trained officers, placing them in charge of police administration at the sub-divisional level.
Four IPS Officers Get ASP Postings in Karnataka
The four officers, belonging to the 2023 and 2024 batches of the Indian Police Service, have been assigned to different districts across Karnataka.
The postings are as follows:
- Dr Bhanu Prakash J (2024 batch): ASP, Thirthahalli Sub-Division, Shivamogga District
- Ishita Gupta (2024 batch): ASP, Karkala Sub-Division, Udupi District
- Ananya Srivastava (2024 batch): ASP, Hubballi Rural Sub-Division, Dharwad District
- Ranu Gupta (2024 batch): ASP, Bhatkal Sub-Division, Uttara Kannada District

Dr Bhanu Prakash J Posted to Thirthahalli
Dr Bhanu Prakash J of the 2024 IPS batch has been posted as Assistant Superintendent of Police, Thirthahalli Sub-Division, in Shivamogga district.
He will take up responsibilities related to policing and administration within the assigned sub-division.
Ishita Gupta Appointed ASP in Karkala
Ishita Gupta, also from the 2024 IPS batch, has been appointed as ASP of the Karkala Sub-Division in Udupi district.
The posting places her in charge of police responsibilities at the sub-divisional level in the coastal district.
Ananya Srivastava, Ranu Gupta Get Dharwad and Bhatkal Postings
Ananya Srivastava, a 2024-batch IPS officer, has been posted as ASP of the Hubballi Rural Sub-Division in Dharwad district.
Meanwhile, Ranu Gupta, also of the 2024 batch, has been assigned as ASP of the Bhatkal Sub-Division in Uttara Kannada district.
The four postings cover both interior and coastal parts of Karnataka, including Shivamogga, Dharwad, Udupi and Uttara Kannada.
Postings Follow Completion of Phase-II Training
The appointments follow the officers’ completion of their training and represent their next stage of field-level responsibility within the Karnataka Police structure.
Assistant Superintendents of Police serve within the district police system and undertake responsibilities assigned to their respective sub-divisions under the district administration.
The government order did not specify the joining dates or provide additional administrative instructions related to the postings.
