Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav visited the Van Dwarkadhish Temple in Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gujarat, on September 3 and offered prayers for the happiness, prosperity and welfare of the people of Madhya Pradesh.
He also reviewed arrangements at the temple and said the visit was linked to the state’s focus on strengthening religious tourism and improving facilities at major pilgrimage destinations.
Religious Tourism Gets Push
Yadav said pilgrimage tourism in Madhya Pradesh has grown under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed to Ujjain as an example, saying the number of devotees visiting the city has increased nearly 20 times following the development of Mahakal Lok.
According to the Chief Minister, more than 10 crore devotees now visit Ujjain for darshan.
He also praised the development initiatives at religious destinations such as Mahakal Lok and Varanasi, saying Madhya Pradesh is working along similar lines to improve facilities at its own religious sites.

Focus on Pilgrim Facilities
The Chief Minister said the state is working to improve arrangements at religious destinations, including easier access for pilgrims, accommodation and essential infrastructure.
He said his visit to Dwarka was also aimed at observing the arrangements there and understanding how facilities at major religious destinations can be further improved.
Yadav added that the country’s cultural and religious heritage is gaining renewed prominence, with state governments undertaking development work at important pilgrimage sites.
Dwarka’s Religious Importance
Highlighting Dwarka’s significance, Yadav described it as one of the major destinations among the Char Dham and one of the four important seats associated with the Shankaracharyas.
Ahead of Janmashtami, he extended greetings to the people and prayed for the continued blessings of Lord Krishna.
The visit reflects the state government’s broader emphasis on developing religious destinations while improving infrastructure and visitor facilities for pilgrims.
