Maharajganj: In a move aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and ensuring effective delivery of public services, District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma, an IAS officer of 2013 batch, has issued fresh transfer orders affecting two key administrative posts in the district. The reshuffle takes effect immediately and is in line with ongoing efforts to improve transparency, governance, and public service delivery.

Shailendra Gautam to Lead as New SDM of Farenda

As per the official directive, Shailendra Gautam, currently serving as Deputy Collector / Additional Magistrate in Maharajganj, has been appointed as the new Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Farenda.

Gautam brings with him a robust administrative track record, particularly in revenue management, election coordination, and disaster response. His appointment is expected to strengthen governance at the tehsil level, especially in areas of public grievance redressal and timely implementation of development schemes.

Vijay Yadav Transferred to Maharajganj HQ

In the same order, Vijay Yadav, who previously held the position of SDM Farenda, has been transferred and posted as Additional Magistrate at the district headquarters in Maharajganj.

Known for his disciplined and structured administrative style, Yadav’s new role is expected to inject greater efficiency into district-level programs. His experience in supervising major welfare schemes will be crucial for the execution of state and central initiatives.

Part of Larger Reform Push by DM Santosh Kumar Sharma

The reshuffle is seen as part of an ongoing reform agenda led by DM Santosh Kumar Sharma. The district has recently implemented initiatives such as tehsil-level dress codes, CCTV surveillance, and the e-office system, aimed at modernizing the administrative machinery.

These steps align with the government’s broader vision of digital governance, enhanced accountability, and grassroots-level responsiveness.
