In a major administrative overhaul, the Manipur government has transferred 70 IAS, IRS, IFS, and Manipur Civil Service officers across various districts. A notification to this effect was issued by Chief Secretary Mr. Prashant Kumar Singh.
Per the order, Mr. Rakesh Balwal, who was serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Thoubal, has been transferred as SP of Imphal East. Mr. Anupam, the SP of Senapati, has also been reassigned, while Mr. Shivanand Surve, formerly the SP of Chandel, will now serve as SP of Senapati.
In other key police transfers:
- Mr. Sheikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, SP of Churachandpur, has been replaced by Mr. Prakhar Pandey.
- Mr. S. Ibomcha Singh has been appointed as the new SP of Thoubal.
- Mr. Luikham Lanmiyo, in charge of SP of Tamenglong, has been given additional charge for the Chandel district.
The reshuffle also includes significant changes in district administration:
- Mr. Mayanglambam Rajkumar, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chandel, has been transferred as DC of Imphal West.
- Mr. L. Nandakumar Singh takes over as the new DC of Chandel.
- Mr. Kengoo Zuringla, DC of Ukhrul, has been transferred, and Mr. Ashish Das, DC of Pherzawl, will now serve as DC of Ukhrul.
- Mr. Mannu Amching has been appointed as the new DC of Pherzawl.
This large-scale reshuffle is aimed at strengthening governance, enhancing administrative efficiency, and improving law and order across Manipur.
