A smooth leadership transition has unfolded within the IRS (Customs & Indirect Taxes) Association following the appointment of Abhai Kumar Srivastav as Member of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).
With Srivastav’s elevation, senior officer Manish Kumar has assumed charge as President of the IRS (C&IT) Association for the remainder of the ongoing term.
Continuity in Leadership
Manish Kumar, a 1992-batch Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer and currently serving as Chief Commissioner, steps into the role at a time when indirect tax administration continues to evolve amid policy reforms and institutional realignments.
The transition is being seen as a structured and seamless progression within the Association, which represents the professional and service-related interests of IRS (C&IT) officers across the country.
