New Delhi: Students of Delhi government schools can now use short-form videos to showcase ideas on public service, civic responsibility and nation-building under the “Meri Seva, Mera Sankalp” reel-making competition.
The initiative has been launched by the Directorate of Education, Delhi, as part of the month-long “Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan”. The school-level activities will run from September 17 to October 17, 2026.
The competition is intended to give students a digital platform to present their views and everyday examples of responsible citizenship, while connecting the themes with the vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047.”
What can students make reels about?
The Directorate has identified several themes for the competition, including:
- Jan Bhagidari: People’s participation in nation-building
- Cleanliness and environmental protection
- Civic responsibility and community service
- Helping elderly people and vulnerable sections of society
- Acts of kindness and public service
- Respect for public property and national symbols

Drawing and speech competitions also included
The reel-making competition is part of a wider set of activities under the “Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan”. The Directorate has also announced drawing and speech competitions for government-school students.
The drawing competition will have two age groups — 5–12 years and 12–18 years. The speech competition will be open to students of Classes 10, 11 and 12, with Hindi and English available as languages of participation.
Competition schedule
The activities will be conducted through multiple stages:
- September 17–October 17: School-level activities
- October 8–10: District-level competitions and exhibitions
- October 12–13: State-level exhibition, competition and felicitation
For the reel-making competition, entries selected at the district level will proceed to state-level evaluation.
Part of wider ‘Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan’
The student competition forms part of the wider “Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan”, which is being conducted in Delhi during the month from September 17 to October 17. The campaign includes activities centred on public service, social responsibility and community participation.
The broader campaign has also included programmes involving schoolchildren and environmental awareness. A September 17 PIB release, for instance, said school students participated in the “Sewa Diwas” programme organised by the Environment Ministry under the campaign.
For Delhi government-school students, the reel competition provides an alternative to conventional formats such as speeches and drawings, allowing them to communicate ideas about civic duties and public service through short-form digital storytelling.
