Coal Ministry Prepares for Special Campaign 6.0 With Focus on E-Waste, Scrap Disposal and Office Efficiency

The Ministry of Coal has begun preparations for Special Campaign 6.0, focusing on e-waste and scrap disposal, office efficiency, digitalisation and greener workplaces.

New Delhi: The Ministry of Coal has begun preparations for Special Campaign 6.0, with a focus on improving workplace cleanliness, disposing of e-waste and scrap, optimising office space and strengthening digital and eco-friendly practices.

A preparatory meeting was chaired by Sanjeev Kumar Kassi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Coal, and attended by nodal officers from Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries, NLC India Limited, the Coal Controller’s Organisation and the Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation.

Special Campaign 6.0 to Prioritise Waste Management and Digitalisation

During the meeting, officials were briefed on the objectives, focus areas and implementation strategy for the upcoming campaign. They were also informed about the achievements and practices adopted by the Ministry during Special Campaign 5.0.

The campaign will focus on:

  • Collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste.
  • Efficient disposal of accumulated scrap.
  • Better utilisation and optimisation of office space.
  • Improvement and modernisation of workplace environments.
  • Adoption of modern cleaning practices.
  • Greater use of digitalisation and eco-friendly practices.
  • Promoting the concept of waste-to-wealth.
  • Strengthening inclusivity and citizen-centric approaches.
  • Improving institutional protocols and administrative mechanisms.

Ministry Ranked Among Top Performers in Special Campaign 5.0

The Ministry of Coal recorded strong results during the previous campaign.

According to the DARPG Assessment Report for Special Campaign 5.0, the Ministry secured:

  • First rank in terms of space freed.
  • Third rank in terms of revenue earned.

The Ministry said the outcomes of Special Campaign 5.0 and the practices adopted during it will provide a foundation for implementing Special Campaign 6.0.

Focus on Cleaner and More Efficient Workplaces

The preparatory meeting reaffirmed the Ministry’s objective of ensuring measurable improvements in cleanliness, workplace efficiency and the disposal of pending matters.

Special Campaign 6.0 will also place emphasis on environmental sustainability and resource management, with the Ministry seeking to promote cleaner and more organised workplaces across its offices and associated organisations.

The Ministry said it will continue to prioritise these measures to strengthen administrative effectiveness, operational efficiency and environmentally responsible practices.
