Harda, Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to agriculture, irrigation, and farmer welfare while addressing the state-level farmer conference on agricultural skill development and custom hiring in Harda on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. The CM inaugurated projects worth ₹232 crore for Harda district, introduced innovative schemes, and called on farmers to adopt organic and natural farming practices.
“Every Hand at Work, Every Field Irrigated”
CM Yadav highlighted his government’s pledge of “Har Haath Ko Kaam, Har Khet Ko Paani” and encouraged farmers to manage crop residue responsibly. He urged farmers not to burn stubble, citing its adverse impact on soil fertility, and promoted residue management through organic farming techniques and machinery support.

- Farmers were trained to use super-seeder machines for effective stubble management.
- Custom Hiring Centres (agricultural equipment shops) will be opened in every assembly constituency to make advanced farming tools accessible.
Development Projects and Education Initiatives
Dr. Yadav inaugurated 41 development projects worth ₹232 crore in Harda, including:
- 36 completed projects totaling ₹199 crore
- 5 construction projects worth ₹32 crore
- Establishment of 3 Sandipani schools to provide quality education, free books, bicycles, and milk to students
- Scholarships and incentives for meritorious students, including laptops and scooters
The CM also distributed financial aid to self-help groups, drip irrigation kits to farmers, and equipment for food processing and stubble management.
Farmer Welfare and Income Enhancement
CM Yadav announced several initiatives to enhance farmer income:
- Wheat procurement at ₹2,625 per quintal, with plans to increase to ₹2,700 soon, along with a ₹40 bonus per quintal
- Expansion of dairy production from 9% to 20%
- Promotion of fish farming via cage culture
- Incentives for establishing agricultural industries with up to 50% government subsidy
He emphasized the integration of horticulture, livestock, and agriculture to boost overall income for farmers.
Sustainable Farming and Residue Management
Dr. Yadav promoted natural and organic farming practices and innovative stubble management techniques:
- Providing machinery to gaushalas to convert crop residue into fodder
- Increasing gaushala subsidies from ₹20 to ₹40 per cow
- Training and exposure for farmers on modern agricultural methods
A short film on stubble management was screened, and farmer Aniket Lodhwani shared his successful experience using super-seeder machines.
Agricultural Education and Skill Development
The government has expanded agricultural education:
- B.Sc Agriculture courses are now offered in 11 state universities and 20 colleges, starting from Ujjain
- Farmers encouraged to adopt agriculture-based industries, with support from government for both farm and factory development
The CM also flagged off an agriculture rath (vehicle) to raise awareness about farmer welfare schemes and stubble management across the district.
Infrastructure and Connectivity Boost
Other initiatives announced include:
- Construction of a 232 km new 4-lane road connecting Harda to Jabalpur to improve connectivity for Pipariya, Sohagpur, and Narsinghpur
- Launch of the River-Jodo campaign to expand irrigation coverage via the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) project, benefiting farmers across 13 districts
- Over 55 lakh hectares of irrigated land in the state, with a target of 1 crore hectares in the next 5 years
Recognition of Agricultural and Cooperative Officers
- 75 newly appointed cooperative inspectors received appointment letters
- Farmers, self-help groups, and officials were felicitated with bamboo planters under the “One District-One Product” scheme
- CM Yadav honored farmers with flowers for their contributions and active participation
