Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved development works worth ₹10,630 crore, giving a major push to road infrastructure, farmer services, higher education and disaster preparedness across the state. The decisions include the six-laning of the Eastern Bhopal Bypass and development of several important road corridors.

The Cabinet also approved a mutual-consent mechanism for land acquisition, under which farmers agreeing to give their land will receive four times the value of the acquired land immediately.

Major Road Projects Get Cabinet Approval

Road infrastructure remained a key focus of the Cabinet meeting, with decisions taken on several important routes. These include the Bhopal–Vidisha road, Khalghat–Manawar route and Mandsaur–Sitamau–Basai–Suwasra route.

The Eastern Bhopal Bypass will also be widened to six lanes, strengthening connectivity around the state capital and supporting smoother movement of traffic.

The projects are expected to improve connectivity between key towns and economic centres while supporting regional development.

Four-Time Compensation for Land Acquisition

The Cabinet approved a proposal to acquire land through mutual consent with farmers. Under the arrangement, farmers who agree to the acquisition will receive four times the value of their acquired land immediately.

The decision is aimed at making the land acquisition process more transparent and facilitating faster implementation of infrastructure projects.

Rainfall Situation and Disaster Preparedness Reviewed

Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav reviewed the situation arising from unusual rainfall in different parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Officials have been directed to prepare relief and rescue plans for districts receiving excessive rainfall. At the same time, advance action plans will be prepared for areas experiencing comparatively lower rainfall.

The approach is intended to help district administrations respond more effectively to changing weather conditions and ensure timely assistance wherever required.

₹250 Additional Support for Ladli Behna Beneficiaries

The Chief Minister also announced that ₹250 would be transferred additionally to the accounts of Ladli Behna beneficiaries on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

The announcement comes as part of the state government’s continuing focus on supporting women beneficiaries through direct financial assistance.

Farmer ID Registration to Be Taken to Villages

The Cabinet meeting also discussed measures related to farmers. The process of creating Farmer IDs began on August 20, and officials have now been directed to reach farmers directly to complete the registration process.

The Farmer ID system is expected to make it easier to identify beneficiaries and connect farmers with government schemes and services.

The state is also preparing to introduce fertiliser booking through WhatsApp. The proposed facility aims to simplify the process of accessing fertiliser and make distribution more convenient for farmers.

Dhanwantri University and Technology Proposals

The Cabinet approved posts for Dhanwantri University in Ujjain and cleared various proposals linked to science and technology.

These decisions are aimed at strengthening higher education capacity while supporting the state’s broader focus on technology-led development.

32 MP Athletes Congratulated

During the meeting, Chief Minister Yadav congratulated 32 athletes from Madhya Pradesh who will represent India at the Asian Games.

The Chief Minister also highlighted Vidisha’s Vibhor Jain meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing it as a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh.

A Wider Development Push

The Cabinet’s decisions cover multiple areas, from major road connectivity and land acquisition to farmer services, women’s financial support, disaster management and higher education.

With ₹10,630 crore in development works receiving approval, the decisions signal a broader infrastructure and public-service push aimed at improving connectivity, strengthening government delivery systems and supporting economic activity across Madhya Pradesh.
