Devas/Bhopal: In a major relief for farmers of Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on November 13 transferred ₹233 crore to the accounts of 1.33 lakh soybean farmers under the Bhavantar Yojana. The announcement came during a high-profile program in Devas, where the CM also laid the foundation for development works worth ₹183.25 crore.
The event began with a review of various exhibitions, followed by a ceremonial flower shower on farmers, and the lighting of the lamp alongside the national song, Vande Mataram.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav: Government Stands With Farmers
Addressing the gathering, CM Dr. Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to farmer welfare, linking it with national pride and cultural values. “Farmers, like our soldiers, serve the nation by feeding people and safeguarding traditions,” he said. He highlighted that Madhya Pradesh has earned special recognition due to its farmers, turning it into India’s “Soybean State.”
He praised the Bhavantar Yojana, stating that it ensures farmers receive fair prices for their produce directly into their bank accounts without unnecessary middlemen or delays. “This is a government that values the hard work of farmers. Over 1.33 lakh farmers have received ₹233 crore today, and we will continue this support for all registered farmers,” he added.
Boosting Farmer Welfare: Bonuses, Solar Pumps, and CNG Plans
The CM underlined several initiatives for farmer welfare:
- Bonus for Coarse Cereals: Farmers in 11 districts, including Mandla, Balaghat, and Jabalpur, received ₹1,000 per quintal for crops like kodon and kutki.
- Wheat and Paddy Incentives: Gradual increases in wheat prices and bonus schemes for paddy and wheat farmers.
- Solar Pump Subsidies: Financial support for installing solar pumps.
- CNG Plant Initiatives: Plans to convert agricultural waste into energy to reduce stubble burning.
He also reaffirmed that the Bhavantar Yojana payments will continue seamlessly, with regular disbursals ensuring farmers get their due within 15 days of sale.
Development Works and PMFME Benefits for Farmers
In addition to the direct financial support, CM Dr. Yadav inaugurated development projects worth ₹183.25 crore. Beneficiaries were also provided agricultural equipment, organic farming tools, and benefits under the PMFME scheme, aimed at empowering small and marginal farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture.
Government’s Commitment Amid Political Criticism
CM Dr. Yadav criticized opposition parties, particularly the Congress, for questioning the Bhavantar Yojana and other welfare initiatives. “When we launched this scheme, Congress questioned the necessity and the funds. But we continue to serve farmers, ensuring their prosperity and dignity,” he said.
He also highlighted that programs like Ladli Bahna Yojana for women have strengthened cultural values while ensuring financial empowerment.
Future Initiatives and Cultural Celebrations
The CM announced that Madhya Pradesh will celebrate Gita Jayanti on December 1 with full fervor, establishing Gita Bhavans across towns. He also mentioned recent accolades received by the state government from the Union Government for promoting industrialization, indicating a balanced approach toward agriculture and development.
