Krishi Sakhi Trains 125 Farmers in Natural Farming

Dr. Yadav interacted with Sangeeta Damor, a progressive Krishi Sakhi from Devigarh village in Meghnagar block, who shared her experience of promoting natural farming in the region.

Damor said she completed a five-day training programme in natural farming and is now training 125 farmers in her village and nearby areas.

She provides guidance on preparing natural farming inputs such as:

  • Beejamrit
  • Jeevamrit
  • Neemastra

She has been practicing natural farming on around one hectare of land and has been associated with the ATMA Project for the past four years, helping other farmers adopt improved agricultural practices.

According to Damor:

  • Wheat productivity increased from 35 quintals per hectare to 45 quintals per hectare.
  • Better crop management and natural farming significantly increased her income.
  • Natural farming has helped reduce cultivation costs while improving crop yields.

She also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav for supporting farmers through government initiatives.

Progressive Farmer Shares Income Growth Through Natural Farming

The Chief Minister also interacted with Vimal Bhabor, a progressive farmer from Khedi village in Jhabua block, to learn about his experience with natural farming.

Bhabor, who owns 25 bighas of agricultural land, said he combines farming with animal husbandry and has benefited from training, exposure visits and farmer workshops organised by the Agriculture Department.

He shared that:

  • He has been practicing organic farming for five years.
  • He adopted natural farming two years ago.
  • He established a Bio-Resource Centre (BRC) under the National Mission on Natural Farming.
  • The centre produces Jeevamrit, Beejamrit and other natural farming inputs for use on his farm and for distribution to nearby farmers.

He currently cultivates vegetables, fruits and other crops using natural farming methods.

Natural Farming Boosts Farmers’ Income

Vimal Bhabor informed the Chief Minister that natural farming has significantly improved his earnings.

According to him:

  • Earlier annual income from farming was around ₹50,000.
  • After adopting natural farming, annual income increased to ₹1 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh.
  • Additional earnings between March and June 2026 included:
    • ₹5,500 from the Bio-Resource Centre.
    • Around ₹1.5 lakh from the nursery.
    • Around ₹1.6 lakh from natural fruits and vegetables.
    • Around ₹6,000 from vermicompost.

The Chief Minister appreciated Bhabor’s efforts and said natural farming is an effective way to increase farmers’ income, reduce production costs, maintain soil fertility and promote sustainable agriculture.

He also encouraged him to motivate more farmers to adopt natural farming practices.

Government Promoting Sustainable Agriculture Across Madhya Pradesh

Dr. Mohan Yadav said the Madhya Pradesh government is committed to expanding natural farming through training programmes, farmer awareness initiatives and various agricultural welfare schemes.

He noted that strengthening sustainable farming practices will not only improve farmers’ livelihoods but also help protect the environment and promote long-term agricultural development.

The interaction with Krishi Sakhis and progressive farmers reflects the state’s focus on encouraging natural farming as a key driver of rural development, higher farm incomes and self-reliance among farmers.
